Tree Friend
There is a tree which I pass by almost all days of my life.
A tree which I liked when I just saw it.
Such a gigantic tree it is. It doesn't just give shade but it’s also a residing place for many birds. In the evening times, when there is a gentle breeze, I love watching its branches waving as if calling me to sit on its branch for a swing. In the mid-days when am ought to see it standing alone in the scorching sun, I feel so bad for it. But still, I’ll also feel very proud that my dear, in spite of bearing the heat of Sun, is giving shade to many people and to many birds also. My friends use to say that am becoming a one side lover of the tree. But I realized that it also likes me when it taught me a valuable lesson. Yes, it didn’t talk to me, it didn’t walk towards me but it taught me something valuable from the same place where it use to be. Just by its normal procedure of shedding itself.
Once I had to miss my tree for a couple of weeks due to my vacation. When vacation was over, I was so eager to return and see my gigantic tree. But, when I saw it, I felt very bad. I couldn’t find the tree in its old look. A tree which gave shelter and shade. I couldn’t find my favorite one filled with its beautiful leaves. It was empty. Empty without any leaf. Empty without any birds on it. Empty without any person under it. It was alone. Standing there lonely. But still, it was alive, it survived. As weeks passed, I could see few leaves coming up. Soon it was again filled with leaves and flowers all over. Back to its beautiful look. Again I could see people utilizing its shade and birds getting back to their shelters. It then made me realize something. It raised a question in my mind. Is the tree revealing the secret of survival to humans? At times in our lives we will feel filled, complete, and happy with people around us, enjoying with us and spending their life with us, we might be an important person or necessary person in their life. But, there might be a change. There might be a season where we will feel empty, confused, troubled, tempted, without people around. As the tree stood alone, we also might need to stand up alone. But the important thing to remember is, things around us are not necessary for our survival. It’s just we who need to stand up, whatever season it might be, stormy, sunny, freezing whatever, just have to stand up and prove we are capable of surviving in the world. It also told me that, this doesn’t just happen once in life, but every now and then as a routine it may occur but always remember a thing, it’s just you who needs to decide whether to stand up or fall down, even if there are none around you, even if people who enjoyed and relaxed because of you have left you, even if you feel that you are left alone in the world, even if there is none to water you and to care about you, remember, there is always someone who will pour out the showers to help you to regain. There will be always a time at which you will come back. You just need to try, wait and hope. What a great and important lesson it had taught me!!!. It had made me realize something that I need to know. Now I don’t just call it as my favorite tree, but I call it as my 'Tree Friend' which will always remind me the secret of life.
